Inundatiile si alunecarile de teren din vestul Japoniei s-au soldat cu moartea a cel putin 199 de persoane, a anuntat joi dimineata purtatorul de cuvant al guvernului nipon.
Premierul Shinzo Abe a ordonat in timpul unei reuniuni a celulei de criza sa se actioneze cat mai repede posibil pentru sinistrati, a precizat Yoshihide Suga in timpul unei conferinte de presa, informeaza AFP.
Un bilant precedent informa despre 179 de persoane decedate in urma dezastrului.
Abe, care si-a anulat un turneu in patru tari, printre care Belgia si Franta, s-a deplasat miercuri in provincia Okayama, una dintre cele mai afectate alaturi de provincia Hiroshima, si are programata pentru vineri o vizita intr-o alta regiune afectata. El nu a facut nicio declaratie, insa a discutat in particular cu mai multi locuitori sinistrati.
In afara celor 199 de decese, autoritatile au anuntat ca nu exista informatii despre mai multe zeci de persoane, mass-media vorbind despre circa 60 de oameni dati disparuti.
Bilantul impovarator, inca provizoriu, al celei mai mari catastrofe meteorologice din 1982 pana in prezent pune problema metodelor de evaluare a pericolului, a recunoscut guvernul nipon, puternic criticat de opozitie pentru modul in care a gestionat criza, considerat tardiv.
