In adancurile apelor de coasta din Western Australia a fost gasit un sifonofor, un organism-colonie de dimensiuni gigantice.
Daca cele mai multe astfel de organisme nu masoara mai mult de 20 de centimetri, acesta are peste 120 de metri, estimeaza oamenii de stiinta care au participat la o misiune in adancuri, conform Futurism.
Desi creatura nu pare capabila de mare lucru, e totusi un pradator, avertizeaza specialistii de la Schmidt Ocean Institute (SCI).
Organismul-colonie descoperit de ei, format din milioane de organisme, este cel mai mare descoperit pana acum.
